Get your PADI scuba certification through the MidWest School of Diving of White Bear Lake, MN. We offer a full scuba certification at a reasonable price.
Unlike other scuba shops we don't make it mandatory that you purchase gear as part of the process; we let you to use all of our gear including the mask, fins and snorkel free of charge a savings of over $250 compared to other locations.
(all gear is sanitized inbetween student use in accordance with scuba manufacturers standards)
We welcome young divers age 10 and 11 with no additional charges, along with students with physical disabilities.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
The process is relatively easy: You can choose home-study; everyone watches 5 Youtube Videos and goes through the textbook. The textbook is roughly ½” thick and has 5 chapters. There is a chapter summary – knowledge review at the end of each chapter that needs to be answered. Once the home-study is completed we have the classroom (roughly 4 hours); during the class we review the information from the book, discuss the dive tables and have a test. You can also choose to PADI E-learning, take the course and test online, then come in to the shop for a 25 question quiz, Then we move to the pool for the skills (roughly 4 hours); which will then be followed by the 4 lake dives over 2 days – typically Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
If you need or would like additional pool or lake time there will not be any additional charges within 3 months of starting course, we want you to be comfortable and diving in a safe manner during your training and certification!
Class fee and cancellation policy:
If you haven't started any of the class work; book or eLearning, you have 3 months from the time of purchase to request a refund.
Your class fee is non-refundable within fourteen days of the class starting date once you have selected a start time.
If you change any class dates, pool or lake less than 48 hours before their start time there will be a re-scheduling fee.
Classes are held weekly: Classroom and pool sessions are held on Wednesday and Friday evenings; lake on Saturday and Sunday mornings. For the Summer we will be adding additional days during the week for class, pool and lake dives - check our online calendar. In order to hold a class other than private or semi-private we try to have at least 3 students enrolled. Kids as young as 10 are welcome without additional surcharges - they pay the same as adults.
Our low price includes the free use of all required gear,we don't make students purchase any gear (mask, fins or snorkels). We recommend that you use our gear during the certification; find out what you like and dislike before you decide to purchase any equipment, free use of the following:

We offer PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors), SDI (Scuba Diving International) for our regular Open Water Diving certification. If you are disabled please check out our HSA (Handicap Scuba Association) certification; we are the largest HSA certifying shop in the North Central U.S.
