PADI Dive Master since 2010

I grew up loving all things water; swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing. I started swimming lessons at a very young age and as a teenager, I became a life guard. At age 18 I joined the US Navy and two years later (1990), I earned my first SCUBA certification through NAUI. In 2007 I became certified through PADI as an open water diver and not long after, I earned my advanced certificate and started wreck diving on Lake Superior. I am passionate about all things SCUBA and am experienced in night diving, low/zero visability diving, spear-fishing, wreck diving, ice diving, cavern diving, and deep diving. I also enjoy combining diving with my love for travel and have been diving in the Dominican Republic; Lake Superior; Lake Michigan; the Straits of Mackinac, MI; Key West, FL; the Middle Grounds in the Gulf of Mexico, Monterrey Bay California and in Cancun, Mexico. After having logged hundreds of dives and wanting an additional challenge and to share my passion with others, I completed my Dive Master rating in 2010.  Then, after retiring from a 20-year career in Corrections, I became a PADI instructor in the summer of 2015. I look forward to sharing my training and experience with you as you begin or continue to explore the underwater world.  I am particularly interested in training other law enforcement officers, firefighters, and military personnel in safe and effective rescue and recovery diving.

Great Dive Shop!

Great Dive Shop, the instructor went out of his way to explain things and he was super patient. My husband has been trying to get me Scuba certified for years and I kept putting it off, but now that I am certified, I really wish I had done it sooner. The process was a lot easier than i thought it would be, and the teacher walked us through everything in a way that was really easy to understand. after I got my certification, my husband and I decided to sign up our two kids (14, 17) and now our whole family is certified.  I would say this place is family friendly and a great place to take classes and buy equipment.
